A contemporary house with a metal exterior wall and large glass doors opening to a backyard patio. The interior living space is visible through the doors, decorated with furniture and interior lighting. The backyard has wooden fencing, potted plants, and a tree with bare branches, suggesting it is winter or early spring.

Pink to White House

Thornbury, Melbourne

Status: Completed

A two-storey addition and alterations to a single storey weatherboard house in Thornbury.

The whole extension, roof, walls, privacy screens and balustrade, are all clad in a corrugated translucent fibreglass. This allows for some of the interior to be glow like a lightbox where the plaster stops.

The new roof pops up above the existing roofline but remains relatively low, appearing as a single storey from the backyard.
